We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to all who made our 1st Annual Wings of Gala a tremendous success!

Remembering Brenda

Friends and family of Brenda MacDonald gathered at Great Falls Elementary School on a beautiful Monday afternoon to dedicate two Adirondack chairs, a birdhouse and a shade tree for an outdoor sitting area in her memory.

Brenda had passed just two months earlier leaving her loving husband
Chad and her three sons; Zachary, 12; Matthew, 10 and Kyle, 8.  After a brief ceremony the boys passed out samples of sunscreen and a pamphlet listing the danger signs of Melanoma; the very disease that had taken their Mom away.

This was the beginning of The Brenda MacDonald Melanoma Research Foundation. Chad indicated that his wife's passing had prompted many people to be checked for Melanoma within his community. At least four people were diagnosed with early-stage Melanoma.

Brenda was already impacting friends, neighbors and the community in a positive and life saving manner...all that knew her would have expected nothing less.

Brenda was a kind and loving soul that will be forever missed, however her memory will live on through the great work of Chad, Zack, Matthew, Kyle and all that support this worthy foundation.

Awareness and early detection are the key, so please see your dermatologist today. These stories are told far too often and we hope our story prevents countless others from writing their own chapters.

Thank you to all of our friends, family and community members for continuing to support our family and Brenda's memory through this foundation.

Our Mission

To support medical RESEARCH for finding effective treatments and eventually a cure for melanoma.  To EDUCATE patients and physicians about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of melanoma.  To act as an ADVOCATE for the melanoma community to raise the awareness of this disease and the need for a cure.

A loving mother, a devoted wife...
